Hello everyone! Gamma chapter hopes that you all are doing well amidst these times. We know that these times are quite uncertain and anxiety triggering, and it can be really nerve wracking when it comes to COVID-19. From unstable finances, everything going on politically, to our mental health– it is safe to say that 2020 was quite the year for everyone.
However, if there was one thing that was our “light at the end of the tunnel”, it is that our sisterhood is as strong as ever. We take pride in our strong rooted sisterhood and some things that we did throughout this semester was have mukbangs, group zoom study sessions, and Among Us discord plays! We had to get pretty creative with ourselves, but that’s the beauty of the Internet! We even had optional sisterhoods where we had several sisters come out to, and this alone shows just how strong our sisterhood is. The fact that we know that we have each other’s backs during these times is super important because it’s in a sense, a nice break from reality. Our sisterhood is constant and it’s something that we can rely on, anytime and anywhere.
Another event that we had was our very own, Philanthropy Chair, Micah Rodriguez, held an event with SDSU called, “Aztecs Rock Hunger”, where we raised money and awareness for the homeless and those that didn’t have a plate for every meal. Although finances can be a tricky subject at this time, Micah was super passionate about this event. Since we are in a pandemic, most of us are privileged enough to have a roof under our heads and food to eat. Even if people were unable to donate money, just by spreading awareness, we were able to help those in need. Thank you Micah! We wish you all happy holidays and a happy new year! Cheers to 2021!
