#BlackLivesMatter

I am sure you all have felt the recent racial tensions occurring in our community during the tail of May. It is important for us to not ignore all that it is going on. It is our DUTY to confront these uncomfortable feelings in order to make our future society a better place. I promise you it will be worth it in the long run.
As a community, we should all be outraged by the deaths of Ahmaud Arbery, Breonna Taylor, George Floyd, and countless other victims. We cannot let ourselves become numb to any sort of racism, even racism that is not directed towards us. We must fight for and alongside the Black community because without continuously fighting, we cannot transform the future society we want to be living in. I want to emphasize that the Black Lives Matter Movement is NOT a movement that undermines racism in other colored communities. As allies, we must not create a divisive environment. This is the time to make our voices loud and clear. This is the time to self-educate and inform others. This is the time to hold difficult conversations with family members and friends. This is the time to stop tolerating intolerance.
I want to thank all my sisters who currently have active voices for this issue. Thank you for standing up for what you believe in and being a fearless leader.
And to sisters who have not spoken out about the oppressive system we have, I highly encourage you to take time to understand the power your voice has, the power you have on the people around you, and the power you have as a citizen of this country. Your voice is powerful and we need you.
To all my Black sisters… I am here for you and my heart hurts for the unjustness you and your community have been put through. My voice will be loud and I will always speak out and fight for your community. No matter what, I will always stand right beside you.
